President's Remarks
for the
2016 VICE PRESIDENTS NIGHT
MG Peter J. Gravett, USA (Ret)
This April the Club is honoring Past Vice Presidents. In thinking of the responsibilities of the Club’s Vice President it made me ponder more in responsibilities of the UK and US number two positions and the role each play in the running of their respectve governments.  Vice President’s Night allows me to offer comparisons of the British Deputy Prime Minister and the Vice President of the United States. Both are viewed by the public as the number two ranking member in their respective governments, possessing the power and prestige to act on behalf of the Prime Minister or President under certain circumstances. Nothing can be further from reality, and they arrive at the positions via different avenues.
