The guest speaker was Colonel Bill Wenger,U.S. Army who has had two recent tours of duty in Iraq. He gave a very interesting and informative video presentation about his experiences in Iraq and the current situation there.

Capt. Bird Wilson and Major Durden
The guest speaker was Major Raquel M. Durden. She gave a very interesting and informative account of her experiences in the U.S. Army and provided insight to women's challenges and opportunities in today's Army.

Felicity Marrs and speaker J. Paul Pleasant, President of Energy Frontiers International
The speaker, J. Paul Pleasant, Esq., provided an in-depth insight into future world energy needs. The current reliance on fossile fuels is unsustainable from an environmental standpoint. Nuclear energy is an answer but, again, new technology utilizing thorium reactors is needed to reduce nuclear waste and to burn up excess plutonium.

Unfortunately, there was an electrical power failure at the ATCC which caused the dinner to be canceled. Mr. Pleasant could not use his prepared visual aids but nevertheless gave an outstanding talk in the gathering darkness, using a flashlight occasionally to check his notes. As total darkness approached, ATCC personnel with flashlights guided members to the exits.
NAVY Night

The guest speaker was Cdr. Edward Phillips. He presented an impressive and detailed account of his experiences in the Korean War while flying carrier based AD Skyraiders. The Navy missions primarily were to support ground forces.

Family Christmas Dinner

Guests of honour were Our Families. The ATCC served a delicious Christmas dinner. Entertainment was provided by Nancy Dee at the piano. Michael McGhee led an enthusiastic round of Christmas carols after the dinner.
